What we're looking for
We're building a new strategic function to lead all creator and social initiatives as the creator economy continues to dominate the beauty landscape. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Director of Creator and Social Programs will own our content strategy across organic and paid social, build and manage our in-house talent team, and drive our presence across all social platforms. This is a senior strategic role—the "new head of growth"—designed to ensure our brand shows up authentically in the creator-first era.
We're seeking a leader with creator DNA who deeply understands organic algorithms and can translate that expertise into scalable content strategy. The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of experience with a proven creator background and demonstrated success in building high-performing content teams.
Key qualifications include:
- Deep understanding of social algorithms and what performs across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
- Experience building and leading creative/content teams
- Strong content strategy skills across both organic and paid social
- Ability to direct talent and oversee content production from concept to execution
- Experience with social-first content formats and community management
- Beauty or CPG industry experience preferred
- Portfolio or content examples required, demonstrating strong organic performance
Responsibilities
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, you will:
- Lead creative strategy for organic and paid social across all platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Substack
- Build and manage a team of in-house creators and talent, scaling from small team to 5-10 people
- Develop content vision and direction: determining what content gets made, who makes it, and how it’s packaged for social
- Manage community engagement and oversee all social platform presence
- Build relationships with affiliate creators and agency partners
- Lead TikTok Shop strategy and execution
- Develop social-first content formats including man-on-street, behind-the-scenes, and interview series
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Growth/Paid Media, Influencer, E-commerce, and Retail teams
- Build systems to optimize events, shoots, and brand moments for social-first content
- Manage influencer programs and creator partnerships
Talent Location
Montclair, NJ (Hybrid) 2-3 days per week
Budget
~$120k-$225k salary

What Success Looks Like:
- Grow social following and engagement metrics across all platforms
- Successfully scale in-house creator/talent team to 5-10 high-performing creator team members of “creators in residence” for short-form organic social and paid social creative
- Establish consistent, high-performing and high velocity content cadence across all organic channels
- Lead creative strategy for organic and paid social across all platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Substack
- Build our JRB creator programs that results in a high performing roster of talented creators for content across channels
- Drive measurable improvement in organic reach and engagement year-over-year
- Support paid social performance through strategic creative that bridges organic and paid efforts utilizing “brandformance” model
- Successfully launch and grow new platform initiatives including distributed “UGC” programs across a variety of TikTok and instagram handles
- Build strong creator relationships and that drive measurable brand awareness and sales
- Build systems to product launches, optimize events, shoots, and brand moments for social-first content
- Lead vision, direction, and execution for all creator-led content needs
- Build out internal “creator studio” to produce a high velocity of creator assets to be used across channels
